In 2003, Potsdam's tram system consist of 7 routes numbered 90,92-96 & X98. The trams
run on standard gauge tracks. 16 Combino 5-section articulated trams were ordered from Siemens in 1996 and the first 4 entered service in late 1998. There are 6 axles in 3 trucks with the leading and trailing pairs of axles powered with 100 kW motors for a total rating of 400 kW, 536 hp and a top speed of 70 km/h, 44 mph.. These units seat 69 with standing room for another 107. Combino tram number 408 is seen crossing the Lange Brücke on line 90 to Bahnhof Rehbrücke on Wednesday May 7th, 2003. |
