Class 5090 760mm Gauge Diesel Railcar

ÖBB 5090 Diesel Rail Car. There are 17 of these units in service with the Austrian Railways. They were built from 1986 onwards and seat 64 all second class passengers. They are powered by a 235 kW/ 315 hp diesel electric producing a top speed of 70 km/h, 43 mph. The units ride on B-B trucks with all axles powered and weigh 29 tonnes.

Unit 5090 003-4 has recently arrived in platform 11 at Zell am See while the left unit 5090 007-5 (in new livery) prepares to depart to Bruckberg Golfplatz from platform 12 on a rainy Monday September 23rd, 2002. These units are one-man operated and carry "Schaffnerlos" signs in the front windows.
