ÖBB 2070 Diesel Shunter. This class was designed to replace the small
2062 shunters. It was introduced in 2001 and 90 locomotives were ordered.
It is a 500 kW, 670 hp diesel hydraulic with a top shunting speed of 45
km/h, 28 mph and a mainline capability of 100 km/h, 62 mph. It rides on B-B trucks. 2070 019-1 shunting along the ÖBB mainline somewhere between Linz & Lambach on Monday October 27th, 2003. |
