ÖBB 2043 Mixed Traffic Diesel. These 4 axle locomotives were built by
Jenbacher Industries from 1965 to replace the last of the Austrian steam
locomotives still in service. They are diesel hydraulics rated at 1104 kW,
1480hp with a top speed of 110 km/h, 68 mph. Note the difference in the
side windows and grilles between the 2043 & 2143 classes. 2043 017-9 waits in platform 22 with train E6688 (15:12 to Hainfeld) while 1099 010-9 will depart at 15:25 for Mariazell from number 24 at St Pölten on Wednesday September 25th, 2002. |
