2043 016-1 at St Pölten

ÖBB 2043 Mixed Traffic Diesel. These 4 axle locomotives were built by Jenbacher Industries from 1965 to replace the last of the Austrian steam locomotives still in service. They are diesel hydraulics rated at 1104 kW, 1480hp with a top speed of 110 km/h, 68 mph. Note the difference in the side windows and grilles between the 2043 & 2143 classes.
2043 016-1 was built in September 1968 (serial number JW 3.789-017).
