The ÖBB Class 2016 are nicknamed "Hercules" and are built by Siemens at the Krauss-Maffei plant in München. See press release on Siemens Website. These are Bo-Bo diesel electrics introduced from 2002 with a rating of 1600 kW, 2146 hp and a top speed of 140 km/h, 87 mph. They are designed for both passenger and freight and sometimes work local trains on non-electrified lines.
