Waiting shelter

Budapest has an extensive system of trams lines numbered between 1 and 69 with gaps due to line closings over the years. The lines are standard gauge.

Many of the buildings on line 56 have ornate wooden facades and this structure provides shelter from the elements at the Budagyöngye stop. Photographed on Sunday October 26th, 2003. The lines in the foreground go to the tram depot at Szépilona and the 56 line tracks are to the right.
