Replacement bus at Fovam Ter

Budapest has an extensive system of trams lines numbered between 1 and 69 with gaps due to line closings over the years. The lines are standard gauge.

The Szabadsag bridge across the Danube was closed to vehicle and tram traffic for the 2004 May Day weekend to celebrate the expansion of the EU. This meant that the 47 and 49 tram lines did not operate on the Pest side and buses were substituted. Ikarus 2600.46 number 1206 (built in August 1992) was photographed at Fövám tér on one of the replacement services.
