Budapest has an extensive system of trams lines numbered between 1 and 69 with gaps due to line closings over the years.
The lines are standard gauge. Link to the
Budapest Public Transport English Site. Tatra T5C5K is a
modernized Tatra T5C5 cars with digital display blinds, new carpets and
new interiors with digital display boards inside as well. These cars were
originally built in
what was then Czechoslovakia and are double-ended cars riding on 2 4-wheel
trucks, they have seating for 28 and a top speed of 65 km/h, 40 mph. They are
powered by 4 electric motors having a combined rating of 180 kW, 240 hp and draw
600 volts from the overhead. 4343 entered service in October 1984 and was modernized to T5C5K standard in December 2003. 4343 was at the rear of a northbound 56 service at Fogaskerekü Vasút (connection to the Cog railway) on Sunday May 2nd, 2004. |
