Budapest has an extensive system of trams lines numbered between 1 and 69 with gaps due to line closings over the years.
The lines are standard gauge. Link to the
Budapest Public Transport English Site. Tatra T5C5 cars were built in what was then Czechoslovakia and are single-ended cars riding on 2 4-wheel trucks, they have seating for 28 and a top speed of 65 km/h, 40 mph. They are
powered by 4 electric motors having a combined rating of 180 kW, 240 hp and draw
600 volts from the overhead. 4255 was built in May 1984. 4255 is the trailing unit of a northbound route 1 service at the Lehel utca tram stop on Róbert Károly Körút. Photographed on Saturday October 25th, 2003. This stop connects with the number 14 trams which run along Lehel utca. |
