Budapest has an extensive system of trams lines numbered between 1 and 69 with gaps due to line closings over the years.
The lines are standard gauge. UV1 cars
(3200-3249) were built by Ganz in Hungary between 1956 & 1957 as
single-ended cars riding on 2 4-wheel
trucks, they have seating for 22 and a top speed of 60 km/h, 37 mph. They are
powered by 4 electric motors having a combined rating of 148 kW, 198 hp and draw
600 volts from the overhead. 3249 was built in January 1957. Ganz UV1 car 3249 at the northerly terminus of line 19 at Batthyány tér on Saturday October 25th, 2003. |
