AVG 875 departing Heilbronn

This is one of a group of dual voltage trams built by Düwag from 1997 to 2000 (numbers 837 to 877) which can operate in the streets at 750 volt plus the DB mainlines drawing 15,000 volt from the overhead. Classified as GT8-100D/M 2S these 8-axle trams are powered by motor bogies in the lead and trailing positions while the two centre bogies are unpowered. These cars seat 97 to 100 passengers and have a top speed of 90 km/h, 56 mph. There are rated at 560 kW, 750 hp. Units 868 onwards are fitted with Panorama windows in the centre section. 875 was built in 2000.
