Halberstadt is the smallest town in Germany (40,000-50,000 inhabitants ) with a tram system. There are 3 routes (1, 2 & 3) with route 3 being a weekend only service. Track gauge is 1 metre.

Tram 154 was formerly in service with Stuttgart as their #547. It is a single-ended type GT4 built in 1962 at Esslingen and was sold to Halberstadt in 1992. It was photographed along the Richard Wagner Straße on service 2 to Sargstedter Weg on Wednesday May 7th, 2003.
