RHB operates trams/trains between Ludwigshafen-Oggenheim and Bad Dürkheim,
and uses the tram tracks between Oggersheim and Mannheim. The RHB along
with Mannheim, Ludwigshafen and OEG trams were consolidated under the
control of the NRV (Rhein-Neckar-Verkehr GmbH) in 2004. Track gauge is 1 metre. Trams 1041-1043 were built by Düwag in 1995 and are 7 section articulated trams of type ET8N with 8 axles in a formation of Bo-2-2-Bo with the even numbered sections being supported from the 4 odd numbered ones. The sets seat 119 passengers and are rated at 380 kW, 509 hp. Top speed is 80 km/h, 50 mph A rear view of RHB ET8N 1042 as it heads along Heidelbergerstaße on Sunday morning April 25th, 2004. |
