Dresden 2534 along Königsbrücker Landstraße

Dresden's tram system has a track gauge of 1450mm (about ½ inch wider than standard gauge) with 12 lines. Dresden has 3 types of low floor trams in service and the NGT6DD built by DWA from 1995 to 1998 are the earliest and exist in both single-ended and double-ended versions. There are 6 axles arranged in 3 trucks located under the front, rear and centre of these 5 part articulated trams. This single-ended unit provide seating for 88 passengers and standing room for another 96. It is powered by 4 95kW motors for a total rating of 380 kW, 509 hp and a top speed of 70 km/h, 43 mph.
This tram was built by Waggonbau Bautzen GmbH and Siemens and entered service in January 1998 officially numbered 232 534-3 (2534).
