1822 005-3 at Innsbruck.

The ÖBB Class 1822 are classified in the heavy goods category but the 5 member class primarily work the Innsbruck- Lienz corridor trains via Italy. They were built in 1993 and run on the ÖBB system at 15 kV AC and the Italian 3 kV DC via Brenner & Fortezza. These locomotives ride on 4 wheel trucks and are rated at 4400 kW, 5900 hp with a top speed of 140 km/h., 87 mph.
This loco was built by Simmering-Graz-Pauker in Graz (builder's number 80514) with electrical equipment from ABB and entered service in May 1996.

1822 005-3 had arrived from Lienz with train E1870 into the same platform as SPR1500 headed by 1042 517-1. A shunter removed the stock of E1870 to allow 1822 005-3 to depart light engine to Innsbruck's traction depot. Friday September 27th, 2002.
