The ÖBB Class 1822 are classified in the heavy goods category but the 5 member class primarily work the Innsbruck- Lienz corridor trains via Italy. They were built in 1993 and run on the ÖBB system at 15 kV AC and the Italian 3 kV DC via Brenner & Fortezza. These locomotives ride on 4 wheel trucks and are rated at 4400 kW, 5900 hp with a top speed of 140 km/h., 87 mph.
This loco was built by Simmering-Graz-Pauker in Graz (builder's number 80513) with electrical equipment from Siemens and entered service in May 1996.

1822 004-6 has just arrived at Innsbruck with train E1870 from Lienz, while 1044 029-5 occupies the rest of platform 5 with SPR1500. Tuesday September 24th, 2002.
