ÖBB 1163 were a development of the class 1063. The class was introduced in 1994 for shunting and trip-freight working with a rating of 1600 kW, 2145 hp and a top speed of 120 km/h, 75 mph. 
1163 011-8 was built by SGP Graz (serial number 80844) in 1995
