ÖBB 1163 were a development of the class 1063. The class was introduced in 1994 for shunting and trip-freight working with a rating of 1600 kW, 2145 hp and a top speed of 120 km/h, 75 mph. 20 members in the class.
1163 002-7 was built by SGP in Graz (serial number 80835) in the summer of 1995.
