ÖBB Class 1142 were modified from class 1042 from 1995 onwards by the
fitting of push-pull equipment, and raising the top speed. These are Bo-Bo locomotives rated at
4000 kW, 5360 hp and have a top speed of 150 km/h, 93 mph. They weigh 82.5 metric
tonnes. This locomotive was built by SGP in Graz with electrics by BBC (serial number 69908) in December 1972 and was numbered 1042.605, becoming 1042 605-4 until rebuilt to class 1142 in May 1996 when it was renumbered to 1142 605-3. 1142 605-3 waits with train R5109 (09:04 stopping train to Innsbruck) at Kufstein on Thursday morning September 20th, 2001. |
