ÖBB Class 1142 were modified from class 1042 from 1995 onwards by the
fitting of push-pull equipment, and raising the top speed. These are Bo-Bo locomotives rated at
4000 kW, 5360 hp and have a top speed of 150 km/h, 93 mph. They weigh 82.5 metric
tonnes. This locomotive was built by SGP Graz (serial number 69904) with electrics by Elin in October 1972 as 1042.601, later to become 1042 601-3. It was rebuilt and returned to service in August 1997 as 1142 601-2. 1142 601-2 arrives at St Pölten Hbf with train E1700 (13:03 Wien West to Amstetten) on Monday May 3rd, 2004. |
