ÖBB Class 1142 were modified from class 1042 from 1995 onwards by the
fitting of push-pull equipment, and raising the top speed. These are Bo-Bo locomotives rated at
4000 kW, 5360 hp and have a top speed of 150 km/h, 93 mph. They weigh 82.5 metric
tonnes. This loco was built by Simmering-Graz-Pauker in Graz (builder's number 68899) with electrical equipment from Siemens. It entered service in August 1972 numbered 1042.596 and in April 1998 it was rebuilt to class 1142. 1142 596-4 waits at Schladming with train R3565 (09:59 Bischofshofen to Kleinreifling) for the connection with IC515 from Innsbruck on Wednesday October 22nd, 2003. |
