ÖBB Class 1142 were modified from class 1042 from 1995 onwards by the fitting of push-pull equipment, and raising the top speed. These are Bo-Bo locomotives rated at 4000 kW, 5360 hp and have a top speed of 150 km/h, 93 mph. They weigh 82.5 metric tonnes.
This loco was built by Simmering-Graz-Pauker in Graz (builder's number 68473) with electrical equipment from BBC. It entered service in April 1971 numbered 1042.574 and in November 1996 it was rebuilt to class 1142.
