ÖBB Class 1142 were modified from class 1042 from 1995 onwards by the
fitting of push-pull equipment, and raising the top speed. These are Bo-Bo locomotives rated at
4000 kW, 5360 hp and have a top speed of 150 km/h, 93 mph. They weigh 82.5 metric
tonnes. This loco was built by Simmering-Graz-Pauker in Graz (builder's number 67843) with electrical equipment from Siemens. It entered service in November 1970 numbered 1042.563 and in November 2000 it was rebuilt to class 1142. 1142 563-4 at Wien Südbahnhof with a double deck train on Thursday May 15th, 2003. |
