The ÖBB is electrified at 15,000 Volts AC

ÖBB 1044 Electric Locomotives were built between 1974 and 1995.
These are Bo-Bo
locomotives rated at 5150 kW, 6900 hp and have a top speed of 160 km/h,
100 mph. They weigh 84 metric tonnes. They were built by
Simmering-Graz-Pauker in Graz.
The cooling exhausts differ as follows: 1044 001 to 070 has low, wide-meshed exhausts, 1044 071 to 095 and 097 has nozzle exhausts in the roof edge, 1044 096 and 098 to 126 have rough large lattices. The 1044 200 onwards have exhausts with round shell elements for sound reduction. |
