The ÖBB is electrified at 15,000 Volts AC

The class 1016 locomotives were built by Siemens Krauss-Maffei Lokomotiven Gmbh in München, a subsidiary of Siemens and the 50 locomotives entered service between February 2000 and August 2001. These locos work on the single voltage of 15,000. The dual voltage version is class 1116.
